It's the continuation of the polishing effort and mainly a consolidation of corrections and additions since the 7.3.0 release. You can grab it there:
http://hosted.fil....com/PDS72

I finally fixed the text bug in the UI files. The bug-fixing files are attached to this post:
http://www.pds.hwaccess.net/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=2&thread_id=682&pid=9814#post_9814

Newbies: To install PDS, make a clean copy of your Homeworld 2 data folder and put the contents of PDS v7.3.0 into it. Then start Homeworld 2 with the command line -overrideBigFile. Further details and troubleshooting in the tech support section of this forum. This is supposed to be PC and Mac compatible.

7.3.0 to 7.3.1 changelog:
- fixed bug with long text incorrectly displayed
- changed text mainly in the Universe section, based on Relaxation's new writings
- new background picture with LiirHra model by Inert
- new duel gametype with specific ingame UI screen
- added working SP Offensive Counter scenario with random alternative CPU strategies (audio file to be added)
- added a modified version of mrWho's Rise of Nation as second SP scenario (work in progress)
- [experimental] modified shoot-at-surrounding weapon settings in order to improve performance
- added auto-harvest and auto-dock toggable features to most game types (F1 hotkey)
- [experimental] added hyperspace capabilities for small craft to avoid the lone-BC-jumping-out-of-hyperspace AI bug
- fixed the Khopesh dock family and excluded the Lavi from autodocking, removing most of the HGN heavy corvettes docking issues
- modified AI to implement HGN/VGR building preferences
- added a no-resourcing option to the early assault gametype and to AI levels

unfinished and future plans:
- increase cloak regen values for players who love Soban's sneaky tactics Grin
- add new ship models (focus on Federation of Cush and Taiidan Empire)
- fix error on the Avenger icon (number of squadrons)
- add other Scenarios
- add a survivor gametype
- add a freeze command to manually ease docking of the less maneuverable craft (F9 hotkey)
- tweak the weapon loadout for small craft
- add a no-shipyard option to the early assault gametype
- redesign the unit caps based on player 'rank'
- modify ascension campaign
- remove the 'barber shop' effect on certain beams
- add new speech icons

7.2 to 7.3.0 changelog:

User Interface:
- new background and loading screens
- modified main menu
- added an 'information' screen with several tabs to provide "survival kit" to new players
- added a 'PDS Universe' screen with interactive map (political/military w/ popup windows)
- tutorial screen revamped as 'scenario screen' - contents will be added in the next weeks
- ship icons redone, covering all known models
- standardised ship short descriptions fitting the taskbar in any screen resolution
- badge names made mac friendly
- non-PDS badges removed (still available from former versions) and a few added (8th and 13th Fleets + Kunde corp)

Gameplay:
- repair orders immobilise targeted ships
- Haarsuk buildable
- HGN marine frigate updated to Longinus model
- fixed bug that prevented from building Deliverance in skirmish
- fixed small bug with starting fleets in gamerules
- added an 'early assault' gamerule (simple point-buy system)

Anti-lag:
- removed dustclouds spinning and wobbling for reduced lag

Sound:
- chatter frequency fixed (no looping 'cakewalk' or 'enemy reported' messages)

Not that easy when you play only on a mac Grin I'll need your help to isolate the issue. Let's continue this debugging discussion on pm.

Sorry if this is just my lack of experience at anything mod-related showing through, but I saw that a lot of the .subs and .lua files were either corrupted or in some sort of weird ...thing. I'm sure you figured it out by now but wanted to point it out. (I like to remodify costs and stuff for the sake of making pretty screenshots in skirmish, weee!)

Thanks di0w0ib. You are right. It did not cross my mind that files could be corrupted by a simple copy on a USB key -.- Sorry about that.
I'll fix it tonight.

Althought it is most likely file corruption, please, for further problems: see the HW2 file in your data\bin folder. Copy and paste contents; although it seems like trash, we might be able to discern something from it! Smile

mrWho, did you download the initial package where some files were corrupted? I checked the files from download and they're correct.

I downloaded that new package (first one was corrupted as you said).

Oh and desription of first scenario have missing letters too.
It isn't a corupted file fault but a bug because many mod have such problems with descriptions (like FSNA mod that I'm a member).

BTW: Do you plan to rewrite campaign? I reall like what you did with few first missions.

o.O Now I see what you mean. Strange bug. It seems to ignore lower case characters. Could you remove color tags and see if that solves the issue?

Edit: yes, I plan to change the campaign but I'll start with completing the unfinished SP scenarios.

I'm most looking forward to the point-buy game system. That's pretty much an NGCS-era campaign force management idea. Good to see it being used for something.

At the same time I'm collaborating with evillejedi in the design of new gametypes like solar system operations (using tiny-scale planet models) and blockade running. You adding point-buy skirmishes (Combat Mission style) and the other idea of a survival gametype vs hordes of AI would make it that much more spectacular.

Of course, nothing is stopping you from ripping off stuff from Warlords Evolution as well, when it is complete. It's all (PDS/Warlords/other mods) going into the same cauldron eventually, after all Smile

In its current state, the 'point-buy' game rule lets you build new ships after the initial stage. But that can be changed extremely easily (one line of script) if you want to have a limited number of ships from start.

EDIT: mrWho, you can try the attached file and see if that solves your bug with the UI. If it does, I'll change the universe file the same way.

Ok, if your email address is still valid I'll send you alternative tries to solve this. I'm in the dark here because I never encoutered that bug and can't reproduce it on my own computer.
